For October’s Shadows, I was inspired after taking my daughter to school. On this beautiful fall morning, I took some photos of shadow and sunlight on the trees on his property. I entered my house, I went up to the studio, the window let in the autumn breeze. I found myself sitting at the piano and improvising.

This Piano / Flute duo captures the calm of the beginning of the day. Take a seat next to me at the piano and breathe as slowly as possible, headphones on your head.

EarthMan Jack is driven by improvisation and some acoustic instruments on a modern background, a Soft Acoustic Ambient.

In my method for my EarthMan Jack project, the first step is to capture a particular mood moment, without additions, edits or alterations. I then let myself be guided towards an instrument, either the piano, the guitar or the dulcimer. Then, instead of just placing the music on the mood, I explore how the notes will spring from the wind and the whispers of nature.

I'm Seb D.T., the artist behind EarthMan Jack. In my daily work, I am Re-recording mixer and composer for documentaries for 15 years. It is my passion for Forest Bathing that pushed me to create this soaring and immersive music based on recordings made around my house, in the woods, at the beach and in my village.

Since 1994, the studio has been my main instrument and I also have long been a bassist in Prog and Folk bands. I grew up in a house where Kitaro resonated as much as Iron Maiden and Alan Stivell. Very early on, I became interested in film music. With my work, I found myself doing it and developing my sounds, my musical universe.

After having a depression a few years ago, I cleaned up my life and integrated forest bathing. This is where the idea of ​​EarthMan Jack came to me, music to give yourself time. At work, during my breaks, I had started to relax by listening to SFX of the field in the wind, of the forest and its birds. I then told myself that I could do the same for the world around me who are in the constant race of work and personal life. I want to do simple, slow and soothing pieces.
